Jean Muhammad

Dr. Muhammad is the Chair of Computer Science at Hampton University since Fall 2006. Dr. Muhammad earned her Ph.D. in Computer Science from Florida State University in 2005, M.S. of Computer Science Illinois Institute of Technology in 1991, and Certification in Postgraduate Academic Leadership at Chicago School
of Professional Psychology in 2015.


Dr. Muhammad was the NPSC Fellowship Award Winner 1996. Previous teaching includes Florida State, and Florida A&M University. Professional experience has included AT&T Bell labs, currently Nokia, 1989-1996.


Dr. Muhammad is currently a Co-PI of NSF CyberCorps Scholarship for Service program at Hampton University. Dr. Muhammad is involved in numerous NSF and Industry Grants in the areas of Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security, Computer Science Curriculum Development, HBCU Computer Science Collaborative Development, both as PIs and Co-PIs.
