Tyron Fitzgerald serves as the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) for Aerojet Rocketdyne. In this role, he oversees the company’s strategic planning, technology roadmap, governance and compliance program requirements to manage cyber threats that drive systemic and material risks to an acceptable level. He is responsible for collaborating with technology peers, business leaders, legal, audit committee and government partners to deliver a cyber-posture to protect Aerojet Rocketdyne’s ability to deliver products, services and systems aligned with the business goals, objectives and regulatory requirements.
Tyron brings over 25 years of leadership experience in a variety of different industries including pharmaceuticals, aerospace and defense, forest products and consumer product goods where he’s served in a number of different capacities. Prior to joining Aerojet Rocketdyne, he served as Deputy Chief Information Security Officer at SC Johnson in Racine, Wisconsin, where he was responsible for all of the security efforts globally. In this role, he was the program owner for identifying, evaluating, classifying and communicating risks in a business context to influence leadership decisions on company risk prioritization.
He began his career as an IT Network Administrator in the banking industry. He advanced professionally through a series of progressive leadership roles as Business Relationship Manager, Service Center Leader, Systems, and Application Program Leader at International Paper, Rockwell Collins and Eli Lilly.
Tyron earned his Master’s degree in Engineering Management from Christian Brother’s University, a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Lemoyne Owen College, and an Associate’s of Applied Science degree from State Technical Institute. He also has the designation of Certified Information Security Manger (CISM) granted by ISACA.
Tyron has been married to his wife Joy for 26 years and is the proud parent of two young adult children.
